Zoloft Lawsuits

If you or a loved one used Zoloft while pregnant and gave birth to a child with birth defects, you may be eligible to file a lawsuit and receive compensation for your injuries. Multiple studies have found that taking Zoloft during pregnancy can increase the risk of serious heart defects or other birth defects.

The Food and Drug Administration has issued a warning that pregnant women who use Zoloft or similar antidepressants are more likely to give birth to a child with certain heart defects. Studies have found that Zoloft can increase the risk of conditions such as persistent pulmonary hypertension of the newborn (PPHN)ventricular outflow defectsseptal defects, hypoplastic left heart syndrome (HLHS) or other heart defects.

In spite of the several studies linking Zoloft and birth defects, the FDA has not announced any plans to issue a Zoloft recall. However, the agency has advised doctors to speak with patients taking Zoloft about the potential birth defects risk they may face by taking the drug while pregnant.
