Allan Berger is the founder of the Allan Berger & Associates law firm in New Orleans, Louisiana, established in January 1975. For more than 35 years Allan Berger has concentrated on representing injured victims against insurance companies, pharmaceutical companies, and large corporations, subscribing to the belief that the everyday person can be equal to the large corporation against him or her in the courtroom.

Andrew has successfully represented hundreds of clients in personal injury cases involving automobile accidents, pharmaceutical litigation, product device litigation, medical malpractice, and premises liability. He was named as a Super Lawyer in 2017 and has been featured in the Young Lawyers Spotlight Section of the Louisiana Bar Journal.

Legal Assistant


Bernadette Lopez has worked in the legal field for over 30 years. In addition to handling Automobile Accidents, Maritime, Tort Litigation and Personal Injury cases, Bernadette assists the attorneys in bringing cases to trial, and has vast experience in all phases of trial preparation, including discovery and depositions. Bernadette was born and raised in Denham Springs, Louisiana but has lived in New Orleans since 1988. She attended University of Southwestern Louisiana and is a commissioned Notary Public.

Paralegal Manager - Pharmaceutical Litigation


Melanie Brennan is a 35+ year veteran in the legal field, having worked in many areas of practice, including pharmaceutical drug litigation, mass tort, personal injury, bankruptcy, medical malpractice, admiralty, and commercial litigation. She has been with Allan Berger and Associates for over 15 years and is currently the Drug Litigation Administrator working with the attorneys on drug and class action cases including Transvaginal Mesh, DePuy ASR and Pinnacle hip replacements, Actos, Paxil, Reglan, Mirena IUD, Avandia, Celebrex, Bextra, Vioxx, and others. Born and raised in New Jersey, she worked Civil Service with the U. S. Army in Bad Krueznach, Germany and relocated to Louisiana where she attended the University of New Orleans.

Medical Malpractice Paralegal


Carla has worked in the legal field for 32 years and attended the University of New Orleans where she received her paralegal certification. She has worked on personal injury, class action and mass tort case for both plaintiff and defendants. She currently works on medical malpractice cases which she follows from the intake of the case until settlement or trial. Interests: Reading, music, sports

Legal Secretary


Mary Ann was born in New Orleans, but lived the majority of her life in St. Bernard Parish. She graduated from the University of New Orleans in 1978 with a Bachelor of Arts degree and has worked in the legal field since 1990 in all phases of plaintiff personal injury, from inception of a case through the discovery phase to its conclusion at trial. She has been employed with Allan Berger & Associates since 2010 working as Allan Berger's assistant. Mary Ann currently resides in Mandeville and is a huge supporter of all LSU Tiger sports and actually has twins sons who graduated from LSU, one of whom is an attorney himself and the other of whom is married to an attorney. She enjoys spending most of her spare time with her four granddaughters, all of whom she hopes one day will attend LSU and enjoy it's many rich traditions.

Financial Administrator


Carolyn Griener has worked in the accounting field for 30 years in both the public and private sectors. Carolyn was born and raised in New Orleans. She received a Bachelor of Science from the University of Southwestern Louisiana and also attended the University of New Orleans. Her interests include music, food and football.

Patrick assists the firm in numerous practice areas, with a focus in pharmaceutical drug litigation and mass torts.



Ashleigh joined the firm in 2016 as a legal secretary and has a number of years of law firm experience. Ashleigh lives in Chalmette and is an avid football fan.



Astrid joined the AB&A team in 2016 as our receptionist.



Dana Hudson, native to Mobile, AL, completed her paralegal certification at Tulane University in 2015. Since graduating, the majority of her experience has been in personal injury. Her focus has been pre-trial auto accident and slip and fall cases. Dana is also very fond of music and previously completed a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in music performance, with an emphasis in flute.

Nurse Consultant


Tara Sidhom, RN, CLNC is an independent nurse consultant with clinical emphasis in adult oncology, vascular and bariatric surgery, and ambulatory nursing. She is certified as a Legal Nurse Consultant and works with various attorneys on medical malpractice and drug litigation cases.
